The daunting first blog post...

Hi!

I'm Steph.👋  I have decided to write a blog about food and nutrition.  It is a crazy-huge passion of mine, and if that is isn't enough reason so start this, I also want to encourage everyone to want to have some nutritional knowledge, too!

How will my blog contribute to this already vast section of the online world?

1. Food Analysis

I will write a post about a certain food/ingredient, discussing its benefits, or lack-of, to your body.  I will suggest how to include these foods into your meals or snacks.  I will include all foods: the obviously good, the obviously bad, and the ones that might surprise you.

2. Recipe Reviews

I love cooking, and quite often create a favourite nutritionally-balanced meal just by bunging random foods together, and I find it ever so exciting!  I'll share these with you, because no one else in my life listens.  I will also review recipes that I cook from my favourite cookbooks.

3. General health and well-being

Being healthy isn't just about what you put in your body.  I strongly believe it is important to pamper yourself once in a while and feel fab on the outside, if only to ensure your mental health is spot on.  We all know feeling rubbish can lead to binge-eating the biscuit aisle of the supermarket.  I'll occasionally write about meditiation, skin care, massages etc.

4. Research Results

I'm still learning.  I will share what I discover about diet plans and lifestyle changes that I try out on myself or others.

Is there anything you would like to read about in particular?

Who Am I?
  1. A Nutritional Adviser, to-be
I have recently completed Level 3&4 AfN and CPD certified Nutrition course, and with a bit of further training, I aspire to be a Nutritional Adviser specialising in weight loss...
  2. Success story: 5 Stone Weight Loss
...because I was once five stone heavier than I am now, and I lost it solely due to learning about the effects of certain foods on the body.  I want people to realise that with a little bit of knowledge (which is free), a healthy body weight will be achieved and sustained unlike following fad diets (which are far from free!).
  3. A "normal" girlI'm 28, and I work in a coffee shop just outside London.  I live with my boyfriend and our labrador.  I'm originally from Cheshire.  I studied French at University of Kent but those four years were just an experience. I enjoy reading (novels, and graphic novels - bit of a geek), drinkies with friends (G&T, red wine, cocktails are my tipples), and going to the gym/home workouts (weights and kettlebells).
Anything else you'd like to know, ask away.

I would appreciate any comments, questions or requests to get me started writing on topics that will be of interest.

I look forward to starting my posts!  Speak to you soon ☺

Upcoming post ideas:
